How does EXIF removal work?
EXIF removal creates a new image without the source file's embedded camera, timestamp, orientation, and location metadata. This tool decodes the visible pixels and re-encodes them through a browser canvas, which naturally leaves the original metadata blocks behind.
Processing stays on the device, but re-encoding can alter compression, quality, color behavior, animation, and file size. The result should be checked with an EXIF viewer before sharing, and metadata stored by a hosting platform or outside the decoded image remains outside this tool's control.
