How does the Facebook video downloader work?
The Facebook downloader extracts available media information from a public video or Reel URL and provides a stream that the browser can save. It is designed for material the user owns or is otherwise licensed or permitted to download, not for bypassing account or access controls.
A server-side yt-dlp process resolves an approved public media asset and the file is streamed through the site's proxy. Private, login-only, DRM-protected, removed, or region-restricted posts cannot be reliably accessed, and Facebook changes can temporarily break extraction. The submitted URL necessarily reaches the server workflow.
