What can an .htaccess tester catch?
An .htaccess tester statically reviews pasted Apache configuration for common syntax hazards, conflicting directives, and risky rewrite patterns before the file reaches a server. It can catch obvious loops, malformed rules, and configuration combinations likely to fail or behave unexpectedly.
Analysis and limited rewrite simulation run locally, but they cannot reproduce the server's enabled modules, virtual-host configuration, filesystem, directory context, environment variables, or complete rewrite state. Treat a clean result as a preflight check and still test the exact file in a staging environment with rollback access.
