What can a torrent editor change safely?
A torrent editor can update top-level metadata such as trackers and comments while preserving the bencoded info dictionary that defines file names, sizes, pieces, and hashes. Keeping that dictionary byte-for-byte unchanged preserves the info hash and therefore the torrent's swarm identity.
Parsing and re-encoding run locally with a custom bencode implementation. Changing anything inside info creates a different torrent even when the payload files are unchanged, so this editor deliberately limits its editable fields. Updated trackers do not guarantee peers, complete pieces, safe content, or permission to distribute it.
