What does the AI content detector measure?
The AI content detector measures four stylometric signals associated with some generated prose: known phrase matches, sentence-length burstiness, vocabulary diversity, and punctuation regularity. It displays the component values and combines their weights into an estimate rather than hiding the analysis behind an unexplained label.
All scoring runs locally from documented heuristics; there is no trained model or external inference service. Confidence increases with longer samples, but human formal writing can be flagged and edited AI text can evade detection. The score is an indicator for review, never proof of authorship, plagiarism, or misconduct.
