What does an RSA key generator create?
An RSA key generator creates a mathematically linked public and private key. The public key can be shared for the supported operation, while the private key must remain secret. This page exports 2048- or 4096-bit keys as PEM-encoded SPKI and PKCS#8 files for development and compatible cryptographic workflows.
Generation uses crypto.subtle.generateKey with RSA-OAEP, SHA-256, public exponent 65537, and encrypt/decrypt usages entirely on the device. A generated key is not a certificate and has no identity attached to it. Store the private key securely and confirm that the target system expects RSA-OAEP rather than a signing algorithm.
