What is my browser referrer?
A browser referrer identifies the page that initiated a navigation when policy permits that information to be sent. This page displays document.referrer so redirects, links, and Referrer-Policy settings can be tested from the destination's point of view.
Modern browsers commonly reduce cross-origin referrers to an origin or omit them entirely, and users, extensions, and applications can suppress the value. A blank result therefore does not prove anonymity or that other requests disclose nothing; cookies, IP addresses, tracking parameters, and fingerprinting remain separate signals.
