What makes a clean URL slug?
A URL slug is the readable path segment that identifies a page, usually derived from its title. This generator lowercases the input, removes punctuation, converts whitespace and separators to single hyphens, and trims the edges to create a stable value suitable for routes and filenames.
The normalization pipeline removes combining accents and limits output to Latin letters, digits, and hyphens. It does not transliterate Cyrillic, Arabic, CJK, or other non-Latin scripts, so those characters are removed rather than converted. Review collisions before using generated slugs as permanent identifiers.
