How does JSON-to-CSV conversion work?
JSON-to-CSV conversion maps an array of objects onto a flat table: object keys become column headers and each object becomes a row. The converter takes the union of available keys and applies CSV quoting to values containing commas, quotes, or line breaks so the result can be opened in spreadsheet software.
PapaParse performs the conversion in the browser using RFC 4180 escaping rules. CSV cannot preserve every JSON distinction: nested structures need flattening, and an empty string, null, and a missing key can all become an empty cell. Long numeric identifiers may also need to be imported as text in Excel.
