WebRTC Leak Test

A WebRTC leak test checks whether your browser exposes your real IP address outside your VPN tunnel. WebRTC negotiates peer connections directly with STUN servers, bypassing the proxy path, so a VPN that looks connected can still reveal the address it was meant to hide.

What is a WebRTC IP leak?

A WebRTC leak occurs when browser peer-connection negotiation exposes an IP address that a user expected a VPN or proxy to conceal. ICE candidates gathered through STUN can reveal public or local network information independently of an ordinary web request path.

The test creates a local RTCPeerConnection, gathers candidates through Google's public STUN servers for up to five seconds, and captures no media. A clean result reflects this browser and network at this moment, not every site or WebRTC configuration. Browser privacy changes, extensions, and VPN routing can alter future behavior.
